Officials said the street value of the drugs exceeded $3,500.

Lawrence Township Police helped with a three-week investigation by the Mercer County Special Investigations Unit that resulted in one arrest  and the seizure of ecstasy and Xanax, County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini Jr. announced on Wednesday.

According to Bocchini, through surveillance and information received by his office, officers suspected Jimmie Lefebre Jr. would be transporting narcotics in his white Mazda MP2 minivan on Monday, Sept 9.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, officers observed Jimmie Lefebre Jr. leave work in Dayton, NJ, enter his vehicle and drive down Route 130 South toward Mercer County.

Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle at Old Cranbury Road. Lefebre was transported to the East Windsor Police Department while a search warrant was obtained for his car.  A search of the vehicle revealed 60 grams of ecstasy in the glove compartment, 40 Xanax pills in a sunglass compartment and $140 in cash in the center console.

Officers with the prosecutor’s office, the county sheriff’s office, East Windsor, Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence and Trenton police, under the command of Lt. Mike Novembre, conducted the investigation and made the arrest.

Novembre said the estimated street value of the ecstasy is $2,400 and the estimated street value of the Xanax is $1,200.  The vehicle was seized pending forfeiture proceedings.

Lefebre, 31, of Linden, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute.

He is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.
