Lawrence Man Charged With Two Burglaries on Melvina Drive

Police say the burglaries took place in late June.

A Lawrence man was charged with two counts of burglary for allegedly breaking into a home on Melvina Drive in late June and stealing about $15,000 worth of jewelry, plus, clothes, electronics and a bicycle.

Stephen Molinelli, 28, of Nassau Drive, allegedly broke into the same home through unlooked doors twice between June 22 and June 25, according to Lawrence Township Police. 

Police were able to close the case on Monday, July 1 after responding to a report of a man standing by a disabled taxi near the intersection of Franklin Corner Road on Route 1.

Police discovered Molinelli by the taxi, which had been stolen out of Philadelphia. Police allegedly found several of the stolen items inside the cab. 

Molinelli was held at Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $36,000 bail with 10 percent down.
