Lawrence Man Arrested on Drug Charge in Princeton

Princeton Township police said they arrested a Lawrence Township resident and another person from Piscataway after the two were allegedly caught with suspected marijuana in a Westminster Choir College parking lot.

Andrew L. Channin, 24, of Lawrence Township, and Dani Portillo, 23, of Piscataway, were arrested in Princeton Township and charged with possession of under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia late in the evening on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Princeton Township police said at 10:56 p.m. they received a report that Rider University security officers had seen two people drive into in the Westminster Choir College parking lot on Franklin Avenue and remain in their parked vehicle.

Police said a security officer approached the two people in the car, Channin and Portillo, and detained them after allegedly finding suspected marijuana in their possession.

Both were charged with possession at Princeton Township police headquarters and later released on their own recognizance with a pending court date.
