Kadyhrob Spotted Near Princeton University Campus

Tony Kadyhrob, the 68-year-old Lawrence Township man who was ordered by a judge not to set foot on the grounds of any school after he allegedly tried to abduct a Rider University coed last week, was spotted Wednesday near Princeton University.

Tony Kadyhrob, the 68-year-old Lawrence Township man who was ordered by a judge not to set foot on the grounds of any school–from preschools all the way up to universities–after he last week, was spotted on a street in Princeton Borough just blocks from the Princeton University campus this morning (Wednesday, April 6), according to an email alert sent to students by Princeton University’s Department of Public Safety.

The alert noted that Kadyhrob was detained by borough police but then released without being charged because he was not actually seen on any school property.

Princeton Borough Police Lt. Robert Currier said Kadyhrob was stopped on Mercer Street near Hibben Road at 11:06 a.m. for a motor vehicle violation. The officer recognized Kayhrob from a recent police alert and asked him why he was in Princeton.

On March 28, while on Rider’s main campus in Lawrence, Kadyhrob allegedly grabbed the arm of a 19-year-old Rider University student and ordered her to get in his car. The girl broke free of his grasp, ran off, and called authorities. Kadyhrob was identified as a suspect and arrested the next day and charged with attempting to entice an adult into a motor vehicle, a third-degree crime.

Free on bail, he was subsequently and was banned from that campus.

Should he fail to follow the judge’s orders to stay clear of schools and get a psychiatric evaluation, Kadyhrob could have his $2,500 bail–of which he posted 10 percent–revoked.

The charge against Kadyhrob has been forwarded by Lawrence Township police to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s office for review.
