Five Lawrence Stores Busted for Selling Cigarettes to Minors

None of the businesses carded the teen, police said.

A recent Lawrence Township Police sting found five local businesses to be in violation of a township ordinance which makes it illegal to sell cigarettes to anyone under 19 years of age.

The businesses in violation were: CVS (Darrah Lane), Subs and Bites, 7-11 (Lawrence Road), Lucky 7 (Princeton Avenue) and Lawrence Shell.

Each of the businesses sold cigarettes to a teenager aged 18, when 19 is the legal age, according to Lawrence Police. The sales happened Friday, Jan. 10.
