Cars Stolen from House on Route 206, Rider Campus

The vehicle thefts early this week come after another car was reported stolen from Quaker Bridge Mall last Friday.

Two vehicles were stolen in Lawrence Township this week, one from the 700 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206) and the other from the Rider University campus in the 2000 block of Lawrence Road, township police confirmed.

Lt. Charles Edgar, police department spokesman, said a resident of the 700 block of Lawrence Road called police at 9:49 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, to report that a green 1997 Honda Civic had been stolen from the driveway of his home sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, and about 9:30 a.m. that morning.

The man told police he had borrowed the car from his brother, a 44-year-old resident of Trenton, Edgar said.

The other vehicle, a black 1997 Acura CL, was stolen from Lot R of the Rider campus sometime between 10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, although police were not notified of the crime until about 2 p.m. the following day (Tuesday, Nov. 22), Edgar said.

He explained that the owner, a 23-year-old resident of Sicklerville, did not immediately report the theft because he wanted to first make sure that none of his friends had borrowed the vehicle.
