Burglary at Delicatessen Under Investigation by Police

Lawrence Township police said that a total of $1,125 worth cigarettes was stolen during the weekend burglary at the Countryside Food Mart in the Manors Shopping Center.

Cartons of cigarettes worth more than one thousand dollars were stolen from a delicatessen in the Manors Shopping Center sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, according to Lawrence Township Police Department.

Lt. Charles Edgar, police department spokesman, said the break-in at the Countryside Food Mart was reported at 1:57 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, by a deliveryman.

The man had gone to the shopping center in the 100 block of Lawrenceville-Pennington Road to make a bread delivery and called police after finding that someone had used a brick to smash out the delicatessen’s glass front door, Edgar said.
