Boxes Fall On Man At South Brunswick Warehouse; Hightstown Man Critical

It took several workers to lift the boxes off the victim.

A Hightstown man is in critical condition after boxes fell on him while he was sitting at his desk in a South Brunswick warehouse on Tuesday, police said.

According to police:

At 9:02, a.m., South Brunswick Police responded to 115 Melrich Rd. for a report of a man struck in the head with a pallet. Officers located the victim near his desk.

The victim was working on his computer at his desk in the warehouse. A stack of cardboard boxes that were stacked nearby shifted and fell into his work area. The boxes fell and landed on top of him. It took several workers to lift the boxes off the victim.

South Brunswick EMS arrived as well as medics. New Jersey State Police Medevac helicopter landed at the scene and transported the victim to Robert Wood Johnson University  Hospital in New Brunswick.

The 58-year-old Hightstown man is in extremely critical condition with serious head trauma. Officials from OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) are on scene investigating the incident. The company name where the incident took place is Landsberg.
