Obituary: Virginia Bowers Peters, 82

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at the Slackwood Presbyterian Church.

Virginia Bowers Peters, 82, of Lawrence Township, passed away at home on Monday, March 18, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Trenton, Virginia was a lifelong resident of Lawrence Township. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School.

Virginia was formerly employed with Photo Art of Trenton, Nationwide Insurance Company and Dunhams department store.

She was a member of the Slackwood Presbyterian Church of Lawrence, a deacon, a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Association and past board member of the Meals on Wheels Program. Some of her hobbies included cooking, sewing, floral design and organizing family functions.

Daughter of the late John and Edith Bowers, sister of the late A. Kenneth Bowers, and wife of the late Elmer Peters, she is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan and (Michael) Janoski, Sherry (James) Branson and Sandy (John) Peters-Murray; three granddaughters Tracey (Karim) Elsharabasi, Tami Branson and Stefanie (Steven) Frump; her grandson, Benjamin Branson; her great-grandchildren, Nabila Elsharabasi and Gracyn Frump; and several nieces, nephews and cousins

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at the Slackwood Presbyterian Church, 2020 Brunswick Ave., Lawrence Township. There will be no calling hours.

Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
