Obituary: Thomas J. Kriegner, 29

Lawrence Township resident worked as a police officer in Trenton.

Thomas J. Kriegner, 29, of Lawrence Township died Tuesday, Nov. 29, in the Princeton Care Center surrounded by his family after a four-year struggle with adrenomyeloneuropathy.

Born in Trenton, Thomas was a resident of Lawrence since 2006. He was a graduate of the Grey Nun Academy, Class of 1996, and was an alumnus of LaSalle College High School Class of 2000.

Thomas was a patrolman with the City of Trenton Police Department until 2009 when he retired due to his medical disability. He was a member of Trenton P.B.A. Local #11.

Grandson of the late Thomas and Claire Marczak and William and Margaret Kriegner, he is survived by his mother Katherine Kriegner and her fiancé Nicholas Barbato; his father James F. Kriegner and his fiancé Tina Bonifazi; his son Tyler Moynihan-Kriegner; his twin brother Christopher J. Kriegner and his wife Jessica; his two half sisters Margaret M. Kriegner and Jessica Spranger and; his godfather Rick Koreyva; the mother of his son Megan Moynihan; and many other relatives.

Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, beginning at 11 a.m. from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. at the , Lawrence. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum with full police honors.

Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
