Obituary: Mary Rita Mullaney, 78

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Lawrence and Ewing townships for many years.

Mary “Rita” Mullaney, 78, of Lawrence Township passed away Tuesday, March 27, at the Capital Health Medical Center at Hopewell.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in the Ewing and Lawrence areas for many years. She retired from Schragger, Schragger and Lavine law firm in Ewing, where she was a receptionist.

Daughter of the late John and Mary Coyne Walsh, and wife of the late John J. Mullaney, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Alice Ann Mullaney of Lawrence, and Mary Terese and Joe LaPlaca of Princeton; a brother, Martin Walsh of Englishtown; a sister, Alice Donnelly of Toms River; three grandchildren, Paul John LaPlaca, Mary Lauren LaPlaca and Anna Lee LaPlaca; and two nephews and a niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at the St. James-Incarnation RC Church, 1545 Pennington Rd., Ewing. Burial will follow in the William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Friends may call Sunday, April 1, from 3-5 p.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington.
