Obituary: Leroy R. Mifflin, 99

A Lawrence Township resident for the past seven years who retired in 1975 after more than 20 years as a truck driver for Hub City Distributors in Lawrence, he was laid to rest on Thursday.

Leroy R. Mifflin, 99, of Lawrence Township, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, at Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he resided most of his life in Trenton and for the past seven years in Lawrence.

Leroy retired in 1975 after more than 20 years as a truck driver for Hub City Distributors in Lawrence. He was formerly employed by General Electric and Allied Security Inc. and he was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He was son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Hill Mifflin; husband of the late Mildred L. Carlucci Mifflin; father of the late Thomas Mifflin; and brother of the late Howard and Charles Mifflin, Louise Van Sant, Viola Black, and Mary Lovett.

He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and John Osborne of Richmond, Va., Mary Ann and Thomas Osborne of Emittsburg, Md., and Carol Russomanno of Lewes, Del.; his grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Tricia Russomanno, Tina and Jose Irizarry, Nicole and Martin Hillman, Meredith and Eric Rivera, Robert and Jacki Osborne, David Osborne, Mary Beth and Russell Sayles, and Heather and Enos King; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Church of Saint Ann. Entombment followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum, Hamilton Township.
