Obituary: Elizabeth F. Yano, 86

A Lawrence Township resident since 1953, she will be laid to rest on Friday, Oct. 26.

Elizabeth F. Yano, 86, of Lawrence Township passed away Monday, Oct. 22, at Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Trenton she lived in Lawrence since 1953. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School.

She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper by Timber Structure, Connor Millwork, Bailey Millwork, Lawrence Bar and Liquor and McGrath’s Pharmacy.

She was a member of the Chambersburg Chapter of Deborah Heart and Lung Center where she served as President; former president of Slackwood School PTA in Lawrence; and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Trenton.

She volunteered delivering Meal on Wheels in the Trenton area and was a substitute for Lawrence Meals on Wheels.

Wife of the late George J. Yano, she was the last of six siblings, Philomena Hoffman, Joseph “Murphy” Graziano, Anthony C. Graziano, Vito Francesco “Frank” Graziano and Antoinette Graziano.

Mrs. Yano is survived by her loving son, David, of Lawrence, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. at Kutch Funeral Home, 215 Grand St., Trenton, N.J. 08611.

Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Grand and Malone streets in Trenton. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery #2 in Hamilton.

Relatives and friends may share their condolences with the family on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with Parastas held at 5 p.m. during the viewing services. Memorial Contributions may be made in Mrs. Yano’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Her son, David, expresses special thanks to the staff of Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
