Obituary: Dorothy May Jaeger, 78

Funeral services will be held on Friday.

Dorothy May Jaeger, 78, of Lawrence Township, died on Friday, Dec. 28, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Yardley, Pa.

Born in Hopewell, and formerly of Virginia and Florida, she was a Lawrence resident most of her life.

Dorothy graduated from the Helen Fuld School of Nursing in 1955 and was a registered nurse at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center for 20 years before her retirement in 1987.

She was passionate about her pets and enjoyed walking her horses on the many acres of land that her and her late husband formerly lived on in Virginia. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and was an all-around outdoors person.

Daughter of the late John S. and Anna Burd Thornton, and wife of the late Merle E. Jaeger, she is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law Keith H. and Marlene Jaeger, and Edmund V. and Cheryl Jaeger; her grandchildren Tyler, Christopher and Jennifer Jaeger; her brother Norman Thornton; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her son, John H. Jaeger, also predeceased her.

Her funeral services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd., Lawrence Township. Burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
