Obituary: Cynthia P. Burke, 58

A lifelong resident of Lawrence Township and a 1972 graduate of Lawrence High School, she died on Oct. 25.

Cynthia P. Burke, 58, of Lawrence Township died Thursday, Oct. 25, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.

Born in Princeton, Cynthia was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. She was an alumnus of Lawrence High School, Class of 1972, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Rio Grande University in 1975. She continued her studies later on and received her Master’s in Business Administration from Farleigh Dickinson University.

Cynthia was employed as a consultant with Strasz Assessment Systems of Princeton since 2006. Prior to joining Strasz she had been employed in the banking industry for many years.

She was a member and a deacon at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.

Daughter of the late William D. Sr. and Hilda Baldwin Poinsett and sister of the late William D. Poinsett, Jr., she is survived by her devoted husband John D. Burke and her loving son William Burke. Also surviving Cynthia are many nieces, nephews and cousins and one great nephew.

Funeral services for Cynthia were held on Nov. 2 at The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Burial followed in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.
