Lawrence High Senior Football Stars Visit the Lightning

Former Lawrence Lightning Football players who are now current Lawrence High School Football players visited the Lightning for a pep talk.

Senior members of the Lawrence High Cardinals Football team visited the Lawrence Lightning teams Monday night to give advice and guidance to the players.  Most of the Cardinals played for the Lawrence Lightning when they were younger.  Lawrence Captain Shurman Riggins told the boys, “You can do this too, you have to work hard”, referring to the success the Cardinals are having this year.  Riggins father was a Lightning Coach for his son and many of the boys on the Lawrence team.  He spoke to the Lawrence Lightning teams about what they need to do to be successful.  “You have to do it all.  Schoolwork, home and football.  You all have the potential to play in college but you have to work hard in school and ask for help if you need it.  Don’t ever be afraid to ask for help,” Coach Riggins told the boys.
