Chapin School Takes Top State Honors in Recycling Challenge

The school also ranked 11th nationwide.

In Chapin’s school first-time participation in the Green Cup Recycle Challenge, the school was ranked first in the state of New Jersey and 11th nationwide.

The four-week challenge required competing schools to earn recycling and waste bin compliance points based on their success in disposing of waste in proper containers.  Chapin School had a high of 97% in bin compliance in the final week and received the full 10 bonus points for other sustainability practices.

Chapin’s Sustainability Initiative engages students, faculty, staff and parents in environmentally-responsible activities and practices, making the community more aware of being respectful stewards of the earth’s limited resources, according to Headmaster Richard Johnson.
