Brown Bag Series Lecture: Professional Practices in Communication Studies, Presented by Luis Salas

Professional
Practices in Communication Studies presents Luis Salas, an alumnus of The
College of New Jersey who holds a BA in Communication Studies and a minor in
Film Studies. In recent work, Salas served as the director, writer, and co-producer
of the 70-minute “mockumentary” entitled “Dead Man Working,” in which the newly
deceased are mysteriously rising from their graves, and have retained their
memory of work ethic. As a result, a new and inexpensive workforce has evolved
in response to the country’s economic crisis and other issues that dominate the
news. “Dead Man Working” was recently
screened as part of the Second Annual Nyack Film Festival, and was awarded Best
Screenplay and Best Editing at the Hoboken International Film Festival 2013.
Filmmaker Luis Salas will take the stage to discuss the development and
production of “Dead Man Working.”
