United Way to Hold Free Informational Seminars Today

The seminars will be held today, Feb. 28, at the United Way of Greater Mercer County offices at 3131 Princeton Pike in Lawrence Township.

United Way of Greater Mercer County will hold two free informational seminars at the United Financial Empowerment Center on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the United Way offices located at 3131 Princeton Pike, Lawrence Township.

Career Center One to One Job Coaching will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. The community will get an overview of the new Dress for Success Career Center where women or men are helped to enter/re-enter the workforce by offering career guidance, technology skills and support in their job search.

Do you need health insurance for your children? NJ FamilyCare may be the answer! will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. NJ FamilyCare offers free or low cost health insurance for uninsured children 18 years old or younger who live in New Jersey and certain low income parents.  The seminar will provide more information and how parents can apply.

The United Financial Empowerment Center is open each Tuesday until April 17, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Center offers consumers free tax preparation, credit counseling, debt management, foreclosure counseling, women’s interview clothing, career center mentoring, assistance with applying for NJ Family Care, and financial planning. Staff will be available to help consumers on a walk-in basis; no appointment is necessary.

UWGMC has collaborated with community agencies, banks, government, and Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness to bring all the services someone would need to get on the path to financial success, all under one roof. The United Financial Empowerment Center will help families become more self-sufficient by giving them the skills to build assets and create more income for their households.
