United Way Hosts Free Financial Seminar on Tuesday

"Pay Yourself First – Why You Should Save, Save, Save" will be presented at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, by Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

United Way of Greater Mercer County will be holding a free informational seminar at the United Financial Empowerment Center on Tuesday, March 6 at the United Way offices located at 3131 Princeton Pike, Building 4, Suite 113 in Lawrence Township.

"Pay Yourself First – Why You Should Save, Save, Save" will be presented at 6 p.m. by Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Attendees will learn all about the importance of saving. The seminar will also focus on setting goals and saving options for retirement, education, and large expenses, as well as investment options that fit individuals.

The Financial Empowerment Center is open each Tuesday until April 17 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center offers consumers free tax preparation, credit counseling, debt management, foreclosure counseling, women’s interview clothing, career center mentoring, assistance with applying for NJ FamilyCare, and financial planning. Staff will be available to help consumers on a walk-in basis; no appointment is necessary.

UWGMC has collaborated with community agencies, banks, government, and Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness to bring all of the services someone would need to get on the path to financial success, all under one roof. The FEC will help families become more self-sufficient by giving them the skills to build assets and create more income for their households.
