United Way Emerging Leaders Holds Networking Event

The goal of the United Way of Greater Mercer County's Emerging Leaders program is to "groom the next generation of leaders."

United Way of Greater Mercer County Emerging Leaders held their first educational and networking event of the year. The leaders learned about the commitment United Way has to the community, listened to an inspirational story of a recipient of United Housing First who now is on staff at United Way and explored what it means to become an Emerging Leader.

“There are so many members of our community that are looking to emerge as a leader and take an active part in helping the community.  United Way is here to help bridge that gap and help these leaders advance,” stated Sloane Shavel, director of leadership, United Way of Greater Mercer County.

United Way of Greater Mercer County Emerging Leaders are grooming the next generation of leaders by engaging them with the needs of the community through volunteer events, connecting with peers, encouraging leadership growth and to funnel new ideas and resources into United Way.
