Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect For Mercer County Until 9 p.m.

Heavy rainfall and gusty winds remain a possibility for the area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for 10 New Jersey counties, including Mercer County, until 9 p.m.

Heavy rainfall and gusty winds remain a possibility for the area.

A Thunderstorm Watch indicates conditions for a thunderstorm exist, but the severe weather may not actually occur.

The other counties placed under the watch include Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem.

The watch comes one day after a Tornado Watch was issued for the area, but no tornado reportedly touched down.
