Princeton Township police said late Tuesday that two people saw a white male with long, dark hair and black clothes, in Carnegie Lake.

A search of Carnegie Lake near the Harrison Street bridge was called off shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 3) after crews were unable to find a man whom witnesses reported seeing in the lake on Tuesday evening, Princeton Township Police Sgt. Michael Cifelli said.

Dive teams called off a search of the area around 8:30 p.m. after debris in the water during the nighttime search caused a safety concern for the divers.

The water is about seven to 10 feet deep in that area with a muddy silt floor, Cifelli said. The current was weak at the time of the report.
