Save the Date: Lawrence History Lecture on Feb. 26

The annual meeting of the Lawrence Historical Society will feature a lecture by Lawrence Township Historian Dennis Waters about the 400-year history of Lawrence's main thoroughfare: Route 206.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release from the Lawrence Historical Society.

We know it mostly as Route 206, but today as in years gone by it has been known by many other names, almost 20 in fact. They include the Assunpink Trail used by the Lenni Lenape, the Kings Highway traveled by armies on both sides in the American Revolution, the Lincoln Highway in the early days of the automotive age, and Main Street in the village of Lawrenceville.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, Lawrence Township Historian Dennis Waters will discuss the twists and turns and ups and downs of the 400-year history of Lawrence’s main thoroughfare as part of the annual meeting of the Lawrence Historical Society.
