Sign up now for the 10th annual Lawrenceville School Big Red Race, to be held on Sunday, May 5, on the school's campus at 2500 Main St. (Route 206/Lawrence Road).
The race has raised more than $100,000 over the past decade, all used to send underserved Lawrence Township children to the Lawrenceville School Camp, a residential summer camp in Warren County, N.J.
Race participants are also encouraged to bring canned food items, which will be donated to local non-profits fighting hunger.
The starting gun for the adult five-kilometer course will fire at 10:15 a.m., rain or shine.
Races, ranging from 25 meters to a half mile, will be available for kids ages 3-11 starting at 9 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register by April 29 to receive a 2013 Big Red Race t-shirt. There is a $20 non-refundable entry fee for adults; $25 on race day. The non-refundable entry fee for runners ages 12-17 is $10; $15 on race day.
A food donation will also serve in lieu of a $5 entry fee for runners under age 12, each of whom will receive a finisher's medal and a t-shirt.
Tickets for the Big Red Raffle will also be on sale. A host of awards are up for grabs, including a special treat for the Lawrence Township family with the most participants in the Adult 5K and Kid's Race.
Registration forms for both the adult and children's races are available in the Athletics section of Lawrenceville School website (www.lawrenceville.org).
