Lawrence Firefighters to Escort Santa Around Town

Santa Claus is ready to again visit Lawrence Township.

Yes, it’s that time of year again when the township’s volunteer firefighters escort Father Christmas around town to put smiles on the faces of little girls and boys, pass out candy canes and generally spread holiday cheer.

The township’s three volunteer fire companies are putting the finishing touches on their respective plans to take old St. Nick down each and every street in the township, with the Slackwood and Lawrenceville fire companies conducting “Operation Santa” this week and Lawrence Road Fire Co. doing their Santa escort next week.

Slackwood Volunteer Fire Co., which covers Lawrence Township Fire District #1, is planning to do its Santa escort beginning about 5 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 14, and continuing about 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Co., which covers Lawrence Township Fire District #3, will hold its Operation Santa on Saturday, Dec. 15, and Sunday, Dec. 16. Lawrenceville Fire Co. posted on its Facebook page a tentative schedule for which streets will be visited when. (See the diagrams in the media box above).

Lawrence Road Volunteer Fire Co., which covers Lawrence Township Fire District #2, will conduct Operation Santa on Thursday, Dec. 20, Friday, Dec. 21, and Saturday, Dec. 22.
