Chemical & Electronic Waste Disposal to be Held Sat.

On June 11, Mercer County residents can recycle common residential wastes and electronics free of charge.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release that was issued by the Mercer County administration.

On Saturday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Mercer County Improvement Authority will host a Household Chemical Waste and Electronic Waste Disposal Day for County residents who would like to recycle common residential wastes or electronics.

The event will take place at the at 350 Lawrence Station Rd. in Lawrence. The event will be held rain or shine.

While no registration is necessary, please note that the event is open to Mercer County residents only, and attendees will need to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license.  No commercial or industrial waste will be accepted.

Acceptable household items include: Aerosol cans, household or car batteries, rechargeable batteries, photographic chemicals, used motor oil and oil filters, lighter fluid, propane gas tanks, pesticides/herbicides, pool chemicals, oil based paint, paint thinners, stains/varnishes, gasoline, antifreeze, gas/oil mixes, driveway sealer, insect repellants, mercury.

Acceptable used electronic items include:  Central processing units (CPUs), modems, printers, keyboards, computer mouses, fax machines, copiers, circuit boards, televisions, monitors, electrical wire, stereo equipment, laptops & laptop peripheral equipment, scanners, phones/telecommunications equipment, microwave ovens, networking equipment, VCRs, camera equipment.
