Burglary at Halo Farm, Auto Theft from Rt. 206 Reported

Detectives are investigating the theft of food from the store on Spruce Street, and working to find the 2011 Ford Flex stolen from the driveway of a home in the 1500 block of Lawrence Road.

Lawrence Township detectives are investigating two apparently unrelated crimes that were reported Sunday morning (Aug. 19): a burglary that occurred at Halo Farm and the theft of a vehicle that was taken from the driveway of a home on Lawrence Road (Route 206).

Officers responding to investigate a 3:43 a.m. burglar alarm activation at Halo Farm in the 900 block of Spruce Street arrived to find that someone had smashed the store’s glass front door using a rock or similar object, according to township police spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry.

Stole was a yet-to-be-determined quantity of food items, he said.

And then at 11:29 a.m. that same day police were notified that a 2011 Ford Flex had been stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Lawrence Road. The owner admitted to leaving the vehicle unlocked with the keys in the center console, Ubry said.

He said the vehicle was stolen sometime after 10 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 18).

The theft of the Ford occurred not far from where another vehicle, a 2010 Hyundai Accent, was during the overnight hours of July 22-23.

That Hyundai, too, had been left unlocked with the keys inside it. But the Hyundai was on Misty Morn Lane in Ewing Township on July 28.
