A 2-year-old boy was  inside a Newark apartment Friday morning. The child, Mikhy Robinson, suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth shortly before 10 a.m. at 57 St. James Pl., in the city's South Ward.

Last Sunday, Msgr. Seamus Brennan celebrated the birth of Christ from the pulpit at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. This Sunday, he will speak to a congregation now "wounded" by allegations a former football coach, who doubles as a team videographer, secretly taped players showering in the locker room at Immaculata High School, which Brennan oversees. Cake Boss Buddy Valastro said he plans on  in the new year. Since Valastro acquired a space in Jersey City where a lot of the baking and cooking can be done, a large part of the first floor of the bakery on Washington and Newark streets can be used as bakery space.

Chris Christie and other education reform advocates get their way—as they expect—New Jersey will end teacher tenure as permanent job security, require more of high school students so they can get a job or go to college, and come up with new ways to judge and track students and teachers.
