Mercer County Business Finds Unique Growth Opportunity in Tough Times

Monmouth Junction, N.J.(February 12, 2014) - Consolidated Insurance Agents (CIA), an exclusive network of independently owned and operated insurance agencies, ended 2013 with 42 agencies in the network group. Alamo Insurance and Financial Services of Lawrenceville was among the agencies added this year.

“Consolidated Insurance Agents gives local insurance agents direct access to a variety of carriers that we work with as part of our network.  With more companies and more products to offer their clients, these agencies can attract a broader array of clients to grow,” says John Tiene, chief executive officer of CIA.

CIA’s highly innovative model allows agencies to gain scale and revenue, direct access to national and regional carriers, and it allows agencies to pool premium to improve contingency revenue – all while remaining completely independent.

“The reason I joined CIA is because when you're not part of a network, you're operating alone. It can be very difficult for agencies to get insurance companies to let you represent them. As part of a network, I have access to carriers and services that allow us to better serve our customers and attract new ones,” says Mark Furer, president of Sureco Agency.

CIA is planning to double the size of its network in 2014, as well as expand to the Mid-Atlantic region. The following New Jersey insurance agencies joined CIA’s network in December: Turner Brokerage of Woodcliff Lake, Crown Insurance Agency of Riverdale, Preferred Risk Agency of Florham Park, and North East RM Holding LLC of Cranford.

Other agencies added to the network in 2013 were Sureco Agency of Lakewood, ALP Insurance and Financial Services of Cliffside Park, Berman Insurance Agency of North Brunswick, Volk Insurance Group of Milltown, and CK Insurance Agency of Edison.
