Gloria Nilson & Co. Real Estate Gives New Meaning to the Art of Selling Homes

PRINCETON, NJ, April 22, 2014 – Selling a home is often an emotional experience for families, especially when the process involves parting with cherished items such as an art collection or fine statuary. In its continuing effort to provide white glove, concierge-quality services to clients, Gloria Nilson & Co. Real Estate has stepped up this challenge — with impressive results.

In 2013, world-renowned Russian illustrator Gennady Spirin invited Gloria Nilson’s agent, Nuala Ann Passannante to list his home. Spirin, a graduate of Surikov School of Fine Art at the Academy of Arts in Moscow and the Moscow Stroganov Institute of Art, has illustrated a range of books from classics to published works by Madonna and Julie Andrews. Spirin has won the Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators for five of his illustrated books, and four have received “The Best Illustrated Book of the Year” award from the New York Times.

At the listing appointment, Passannante learned that Spirin’s collection of magnificently detailed watercolors would not be making the move with him. Seeing that the prospect of selling the art was a daunting one for Spirin, Passannante offered to broker its sale through Gloria Nilson’s affiliation with Christie's International Real Estate.

So far, the results have exceeded Spirin’s expectations. Two of his illustrations recently sold at auction for $23,750, and his “Candy City” work was the fifth highest selling illustration in the auction catalog.

“We are keenly aware that a home is more than its bricks and mortar,” says Pat Bell, president of Gloria Nilson.  Our agents are committed to doing whatever it takes to help our sellers through the process. We are pleased to have the resources and affiliations to provide this extraordinary level of concierge-quality services.”
