VIDEO: Colonial Lanes Demolition Raises the Roof

Historic steel structure comes down

Just after dawn on Saturday morning, a forty ton iconic steel super structure that was crafted locally in Trenton approximately forty years ago, was taken off of the remainder of the Colonial Lanes Bowling alley for good.

Mayor Greg Puliti witnessed an 80-ton crane lift off the remainder of the roof. A significant portion of the steel structure will be carefully crafted into momentos of an era gone by to be given out to the patrons at the completely new Colonial Bowling and Entertainment Center. The rest will be recycled.

The bowling alley – located in the 2400 block of Brunswick Pike (Business Route 1) – closed in May in preparation for its complete “redevelopment and modernization.”
