Hamilton Jewelers Will Close Lawrenceville Store in Mid-June

The company will focus on its four other stores, including a large expansion of its Princeton location.

After 40 years, Hamilton Jewelers will close its Lawrenceville store on Route 1 in mid-June to make room for a renovation and expansion at the company's flagship Princeton store, the company announced late Wednesday.

The Lawrenceville location will close briefly between Saturday, April 13 from Monday April 15. Beginning April 18 the store will hold a closing sale. This will include Lawrenceville inventory, but also items from Hamilton Jewelers stores in Princeton, Red Bank and Palm Beach, Fla.

The Lawrenceville store will officially close in mid-June. Renovations at the Princeton store are expected to begin this summer.

“Speaking for the Hamilton family, we offer a sincere thanks to all of you who have made Hamilton’s Lawrenceville location successful for 40 years,” said Hamilton Jewelers' President Hank Siegel. “We look forward to continuing to serve you in Princeton, Red Bank and Palm Beach, but most importantly, we hope to see you at our exclusive sale so we may thank you personally for your business over the years.”

The store plans to undergo a huge renovation at its Princeton store, essentially doubling its current size at the corner of Nassau and Witherspoon Streets. There are also plans for expanded offerings at all of the other locations, including new collections, new designers and speciality boutiques (for example, an estate buying boutique).
