Construction of Amazon Warehouse 'Just Ahead of Schedule'

The developer says the warehouse is expected to be finished by the second quarter of 2014, according to a report.

The developer working on the Amazon.com warehouse coming to Robbinsville estimates construction will be finished on the site by the second quarter of 2014, “just ahead of schedule,” nj.com reports.

The Amazon.com warehouse will take up 14 acres at the Matrix Business Park off Gordon Road, and is expected to provide 1,400 full-time jobs and $22 million in revenue for Robbinsville, according to the report.

KTR Capital Partners began construction in February, according to the report. Three sides of the warehouse are already in place, and KTR senior vice president John Bancroft told nj.com he expects the structure to be fully enclosed by January.

It is Amazon’s first venture into the state, and will serve as a centralized point for the company to ship products, according to the report. Amazon began collecting a 7 percent sales tax on purchases made in the state on July 1, according to northjersey.com.

In 2012, Gov. Chris Christie announced two Amazon locations were coming to New Jersey, according to the New York Times. The location of the second store has yet to be revealed.
