Registration Begins for Summer Reading Program at the Library

This year's theme is "Dream Big, Read."

Mercer County Library System is part of the National Collaborative Summer Reading Program which prepares children for continued suc-cess through summer activities to motivate children to read and discuss books and to develop a positive attitude toward reading.

Children ages 11 and under are encouraged to visit the library anytime beginning Monday June 18 to register for the Mercer County Library System’s free summer reading program.

They should stop at the registration table to receive a reading log to keep track of the books they read on their own or with their caregiver. Incentive prizes are awarded on a weekly basis to children who return to the library to report the number of titles or chapters they have completed.

Teen volunteers and library staff will assist children in the registration process at each branch and are available to answer questions. For more informatin, call the youth desk at 609-989-6921.
