5 Things You Need to Know About This Weekend

A flea market, a Zumba class, child car seat safety checks, the Lawrenceville Farmers' Market, and a psychic fair are among the events taking place in Lawrence Township this weekend.

Here are five upcoming events in and around Lawrence Township that you need to know about. Additional activities are listed in Lawrenceville Patch’s events calendar.

Saturday, June 4 – Flea Market

A flea market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 4 in the parking lot of Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church at 1039 Lawrence Rd. (Route 206). Dozens of vendors and yard sellers will be on hand offering a variety of items for sale. The event benefits the English School, which operates out of the church to provide low-cost, high-quality English language instruction to adults in Mercer County.

Saturday, June 4 – Zumba Fitness Training

The public is invited to attend Zumba class with the firefighters of Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Co. during Saturdays in June. Fitness instructor Giancarla “gets the room on fire with her cardio.” The class starts at 9 a.m. and will be held on June 4, 11, 18 and 25 at the firehouse at 64 Phillips Ave.

Saturday, June 4 –

Lawrence Township police – in cooperation with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Safe Kids New Jersey, and St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center – will offer free child car seat checks on June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Lawrence in the 2300 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206), near Interstate 95. Saturday, June 4 – Farmers' Market

The Lawrenceville Farmers' Market, sponsored by Lawrenceville Main Street, will kick off its 2011 season on June 4. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Lawrenceville Fuel at 16 Gordon Ave. Singer/songwriter Sarah Donner will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Representatives of the Lawrence Nature Center and Sustainable Lawrence will also be on hand. Saturday, June 4 – Psychic Fair

A psychic fair featuring holistic psychics and healers take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 4 at the Lawrence Nature Center, 481 Drexel Ave. Admission of $10 includes $5 off any reading or service and an opportunity to win a free reading. Children 10 and under are free. A news release about the event reads: “This is a gateway for the public to evaluate holistic and metaphysical practitioners within the local area at reduced prices.  They can then determine if they would like to pursue a more permanent relationship. Practitioners have the opportunity to highlight their services, and the resulting value and benefits. Reservations are recommended and may be made by contacting us at (609) 278-9061 or NJLearningCenter@comcast.net. There are readers and energy workers for all price ranges.”
