Maria Okros teaching a program combining aerobic exercise with dancing. The class begins with an aerobic warm up and is followed by a simple, easy to follow routine. Space is limited. Registration suggested.

Wednesday

Special Olympics Fundraiser, Houlihan's, 3371 Route 1, Lawrenceville, 5 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds go to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey.  Just present flyer at above link.

Thursday

Grasslands Birds of Mercer Meadows, 2751 Us Highway 1, Lawrence Township, 7 p.m.

Mercer Meadows, formerly known as the Pole Farm, has been celebrated for decades as a stronghold for several species of rare, threatened and endangered birds. The grasslands of the preserve are home to birds such as the Grasshopper Sparrow, Bobolink, American Kestrel, and many other species which are declining throughout their ranges. During the winter, the grassland is invaded by birds-of-prey from the north including Northern Harrier, Short-eared Owl, and Rough-legged Hawk.  County Naturalist Jenn Rogers will speak about the lives of the grassland birds at Mercer Meadows and what is being done to save them. Refreshments will be served. Registration suggested.

Friday

“Lovers and Other Strangers” at MCCC’s Kelsey Theatre, Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Rd, West Windsor

Performances are Fridays, May 31 and June 7 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 1 and 8 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 2 and 9 at 2 p.m.  A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on May 31.    

“Lovers and Other Strangers” is comprised of five funny and heartwarming vignettes that explore the ins and outs and ups and downs of men, women and relationships. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $12 for students and children. For tickets, call the Kelsey Theatre box office at (609) 570-3333, or order online at www.kelseytheatre.net. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking available next to the theater.
