Renaissance Faire This Weekend

Experience the Renaissance right here in Mercer County.

Dress up like it’s the middle ages, or Middle Earth, and head to Mercer County Park Saturday and Sunday for the Renaissance Faire.

The event will feature vendors, food, and re-enactments by groups including the Renaissance Faire Group. There will be mock wars, jousting, and vendors selling things such as period equipment, clothing and even food.

This will be the fair’s sixth year at the park, said Ed DiPolvere, one of the organizers. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children between 5 and 7 years old, and kids younger than 5 are free.

“It’s a pretty good deal because of the jousting alone,” said DiPolvere. “People come just for the jousting. They have horses and that goes on one or two or more times a day each day on Saturday and Sunday and it lasts for 45 minutes. People just adore it.
