Interactive USO Map Lets Residents Show Support for Local Soldiers

"Thanks From Everywhere" map aims lift the spirits of Armed Forces

There are lots of ways to show an active duty soldier you care this season, but a new platform from the USO is putting Lawrence Township — and everywhere else — on the map.

The "Thanks from Everywhere" online map the USO created allows users to log in and blast a message of thanks to troops, while pinning their message to the commenter's ZIP code.

That means that servicemen and women from the township can see what folks from their hometown have to share. The map allows those in active duty to leave messages to their hometown, too.

The site has a scrolling list of messages from everywhere, but simply type in a ZIP code in the search bar toward the bottom of the homepage and you can see what folks from that ZIP are saying.

Lawrence Township residents left a few warm messages for the troops around Thanksgiving. One read: "Dear Military Brother or Sister, Thank you for being there for all us civilians. You sacrifice your everything for us and it means everything to us. I wish you Gods' blessing in all that you do, and everywhere you may go! Thank You!"
