Inaugural Mercer County Cultural Festival to be Held Oct. 15

The event, to be held at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, will feature art, music, dance and food from a variety of cultures.

Mercer County is a melting pot of many cultures that come together here in the capital county of one of America’s most diverse, densely populated states.  Mercer County’s 13 municipalities are home to citizens of an array of ethnicities and various countries of origin, and in celebration of this Mercer County is hosting its first ever Cultural Festival on Oct. 15 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The one-day festival will celebrate diverse cultures through traditional food, live cultural music, and dance performances.

The festival will also feature work by Mercer County artists and explore the art heritage of the various cultures. Represented in the group so far  are Italian, Indian, Polish, Greek, Puerto Rican, Guatemalan, Chinese, Peruvian, Caribbean, Spanish, Irish, Mexican, Korean, African, Scottish, Egyptian, German Opera, American Folk, Howell Farm, and Gospel, and more are signing up each day!

In addition to one-of-a-kind art and craftwork, visitors will be treated to live music, bands, chorales and dance troupes, from traditional American Folk music to classic Indian dance, African drumming, Irish step-dancing, Mariachi and more.

Triumph Brewing Company and Unionville Vineyards will offer beer and wine. Celebrate the Culture and Heritage of Mercer County, Saturday, October 15 at Mercer County Park, by the Skating Rink. Rain Date will be Sunday, Oct. 16. For more information, visit http://wpst.com/culturalfestival.

This free festival is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department Of State, a partner agency of The National Endowment For The Arts, and by Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and the Mercer County Board Of Chosen Freeholders.  Admission and parking are free.
