Girl Scouts Celebrate 100th Anniversary on Nation's Birthday

The Lawrence Ewing Trenton Girl Scouts led out the Ewing Twp. Annual 4th of July parade to commemorate their 100-year anniversary.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the Lawrence Ewing Trenton Girl Scouts.

The Lawrence Ewing Trenton Girl Scouts celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts with a bang as they led out the Ewing Township Annual July 4th Parade.  As this years theme was the celebration of that 100 year mark the unit showed up in force with hundreds of Girl Scouts, Troop Leaders and volunteer parents marching proudly.

The entire endeavor was made possible by Cadette Troop 70715 under the leadership of Pamela Hornack and Desiree Myers.  Together the girls spent the entire year planing and constructing a massive birthday cake float to lead in the parade.  The float featured massive hand drawings of famous Girl Scouts and troop memories. Over the past twelve months the girls worked out construction plans, sought out construction materials and experts to teach and guide them along the way and learned a lot about budgeting and project planning.

The members of Troop 70715 are Nadine Abouelella, Ce'Nia Bowser, Gabrielle Davis, Cassandra Hahn, Jayda Harris, Gabrielle Hornak, Breonna McKinney, Sarah Myers and Marguerite VanWagner.

The Lawrence Ewing Trenton Girl Scouts hosts a wide variety of programs for girls from Kindergarten right through 12th grades.  Our membership boasts 527 girl members and 335 adult members and volunteers.  To learn more about the great thing happening in Girl Scouts and learn how to become a Girl Scout visit www.LETGirlScouts.org
