An Egg Hunt, Baby Animals and More at Mercer County Parks

There is plenty to do Saturday at Mercer County parks: pick from an Outdoor Adventure, have an Easter Egg Hunt or visit with some of the area's newest baby animals! 

• On Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, visit Rosedale Park for Mercer County’s Adventures program. The weekend nature program series is aimed at children who have a natural curiosity for the outdoors.  With the guidance of a County Naturalist, children will broaden their knowledge of nature while dissecting frozen logs, exploring vernal pools and searching for springtime amphibians. Participants will hike through Mercer Meadow’s fields and forest and become acquainted with its various plants and wildlife. Meet at the Hunt house in the Rosedale Park section of Mercer Meadows. • Grab your bonnets and baskets and head to the Mercer County Park Festival Grounds, near the ice rink, for the PST egg hunt from 10 to 2 p.m. Music from the Princeton School of Rock and world class clowns from Ringing Bros. will be on hand for what will be a great day. • Visit the Howell Living History Farm from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a “lambing” (formerly New Faces.) Twin lambs, newly hatched chicks and baby pigs are among the dozens of new faces you’ll see at the farm these days. Meet these animals up close during this wonderful event.
