Sign Up for July 25 Red Tent Dinner, Shabbat and Hike

HOPEWELL TWP. - Members of the Har Sinai Sisterhood will bond along with guests at a Red Tent Shabbat Service on July 25 at Titusville's Baldpate Mountain.

A combination of music, an outdoor supper, a hike and joyful celebration, the event begins in the parking lot of Baldpate at 5:15 p.m. and concludes at 8:30 p.m. Welcoming and inclusive, the Red Tent also is open to non-affiliated guests who simply want to join in.

When the group forms, the next step is dinner followed by a 30-minute hike up the mountain to a Shabbat service. The walk is considered doable for anyone in average condition. There is a short section of "rock stairs' that is more challenging.

After the service, the women will return to the parking lot where they will have their "Oneg" for dessert.

Anyone concerned about the hike can take an alternate route up the mountain by car or on foot on a paved road. Comfortable shoes, a jacket and either a folding chair or blanket are suggested as gear for all participants.

To reserve a spot, call the temple at (609) 730-8100. Sisterhood members are asked to contribute $12 for everthing, including dinner and Oneg; non-members are asked to pay $10 for the same package.
