New Look At Torah

Hopewell Twp. - An ambitious, month-long study of the Torah based on portions of the book "Unscrolled" will begin at Har Sinai Temple on Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m.           Rabbi Stuart Pollack, who heads the Har Sinai Temple congregation at 2421 Pennington Rd., will replace his regular Friday night sermons with a quick introduction into the reading of the book "Unscrolled" before a short discussion. Congregants are welcome to do the introduction as well.           The new "take" on the Torah is the work of 54 leading, young  Jewish writers, artists, photographers, screenwriters, actors, musicians, architects and graphic artists who interpret portions of the Torah that usually take a year to read.           The readings range from the foundational stories of Genesis and Exodus to the legalistic Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.           The schedule begins Jan. 10 with "Bereshit" and goes on to "Noach" on Jan. 17 and "Lech Lecha" on Jan. 24, each at 7:30 p.m. at the Temple.           Anyone interested in leading a discussion should call the temple office at (609) 730-8100. The book "Unscrolled" is available on Amazon for $13.84.                                                 #
