Local Company Featured in New Book

The locally owned and operated 3 Monkeys Mustard is featured in a new book by author Steve Akley. Small Brand America tells the stories of 25 tiny companies trying to find their way onto shelves dominated by large nationally recognized megabrands.

Dan Collins, owner of 3 Monkeys Mustard was featured in a chapter. Steve Akley notes, “Telling the stories of these companies was an incredibly uplifting experience. As you read their stories you realize that the American Dream is still alive and well.”

Akley notes that working with the individuals on the book held his interest and kept him on track. He states, “Talking to people like Dan Collins and learning about all he had done to get his mustard on the market made writing a book seem like a breeze. Plus, I felt a tremendous responsibility to get the work completed to help get the word out on how great their products and stories are.”

The end result is a book which delivers insight into the interesting adventure of being a start-up in the grocery industry. The book is categorized by company so each section reads like a mini novel within the book.
