Talk and Tour: The Spirit of Reggio Learning

SILVANA G. NAZZARO CLARK, Head of Princeton Junior School (PJS), invites PJS families and other interested parents to attend a presentation about the Reggio Emilia approach to preschool education, led by early childhood expert, RICK ELLIS, on Thursday, January 17th 2013 at 8:30am in the PJS McIntyre Commons at 90 Fackler Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. A reception will follow, and Ms. Clark will lead a tour for parents who wish to learn more about Princeton Junior School's Reggio-Inspired Preschool Program and Elementary Programs. In his discussion, "Reggio Emila: Bringing the Philosophy to America - Creative, Developmentally- Appropriate Learning Environments for Young Children," Ellis will highlight the fundamentals of this acclaimed educational approach that celebrates the joy in discovery and cultivates children's innate creativity, preparing them to become self-confident learners and engaged citizens.

RICK ELLIS, MEd

Rick Ellis has been involved in the fields of early childhood and elementary education for 38 years. Trained through Bank Street College, Rider University, and The College of New Jersey, he has taught infants through nine-year olds and has also worked in educational administration as a teaching coach/ unit leader, mentor, administrator, and instructional computer coordinator. Trained in the philosophy of the Reggio Emilia approach in Italy in 2007, Ellis currently teaches a course in transferring this philosophy to American Schools at Bank Street College of Education. He is also a clinical adjunct professor at Rider University, William Patterson University, and The College of New Jersey.
