Sustainable Lawrence is sponsoring the Sustainable Living Series 2012 - 2013. Three [3] workshops and lectures sessions covering sustainable living with practical know how and why.  This is a pilot program.  These workshops will take place on Saturday afternoons from 1-3 pm. during the month of November 2012.  You will earn CEU Credits at the completion of each workshop, and are recommended for Teachers, Youth group leaders, HomeFront, Scouts, Religious Educators, Boys/Girls Clubs, Neighborhood association representatives, PTO representatives and people from surrounding sustainable municipal organizations. Garbage in, Garbage out isthe first workshop and will consist of three sessions. This is SESSION II:  Will talk about: "Making Waste: Invisible Waste, Sewer and Water.  How landfills works" on November 10th, 2012 and a field trip to the Garbage Transit Facility in Ewing.  For more information, please call Tahirih at [609] 731-1818. Formerly known as the Lawrence Neighborhood Center, this facility is owned by Lawrence Township but has been managed as a community center by HomeFront since 2009. The center strives to provide a "safe, welcoming" environment where visitors can participate in a variety of cultural, educational and recreational activities.

Among the many events that are held here are Jazzercise classes, Cub Scout and Girl Scout meetings, an after-school program, basketball and indoor soccer leagues, a food pantry and other social services programs adminstered by HomeFront.
