American Boychoir to Tape NPR Performance in Princeton

The performance will be held on May 19 at Richardson Auditorium, Princeton University.

As part of its 75th Anniversary celebration, The American Boychoir will present From the Top, a  showcase for young musicians heard weekly on NPR, including WWFM, on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University.   The NPR program, hosted by pianist Christopher O'Riley, will feature the Boychoir performing works by Maurice Duruflé, John Phillip Sousa, Johann Sebastian Bach and The Beatles in a first-ever taping in Princeton.  The episode will air nationally the week of June 3. Rider Choral Ready for Spring Concert

This year's performance is set for Friday.

  The Rider University Chorale, conducted by John McDonnell and accompanied by Brittany Montoro, will perform its annual spring concert on Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gill Memorial Chapel on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville. The program will include a variety of works, including classical, pop, sacred and secular music composed by Handel, Rutter, Brahms, Copland, Billy Joel and others. Now in its fifth season, the Rider University Chorale focuses on the fundamentals of artistic choral singing and explores various choral repertoires. Westminster Concert Bell Choir to Perform in Princeton

The program features original compositions and arrangements of familiar works for handbells.

The Westminster Concert Bell Choir, conducted by Kathleen Ebling Shaw, will present its annual spring concert on Saturday, May 4 at 4 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton. A preview of the choir’s 2013 National Tour, the program features original compositions and arrangements of familiar works for handbells including a transcription of J.S. Bach’s Fugue In G Minor, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, and the traditional Irish folk song Londonderry Air. The ensemble will also perform contemporary works including Erroll Garner’s Misty and Paul Desmond’s Take Five. Westminster Jubilee Singers Presents 'And He Blessed My Soul'

Westminster Jubilee Singers will present a concert entitled 'And He Has Blessed My Soul' with Taione K. Martinez, conductor, on Sunday, April 28at 7:30 p.m. in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Communiversity Returns to Princeton Today

This year, the annual celebration includes a live "Paint Out" project.

  It's time once again for Princeton's annual town-gown celebration for the arts.  On Sunday, April 28 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Arts Council of Princeton will transform downtown Princeton into an outdoor music festival, art museum, emporium, farmers market and restaurant sampling. The tradition of Communiversity has been alive and well since 1971, when the Arts Council began producing the free, community-wide celebration.  This year, tens of thousands of people are expected to peruse more than 200 booths showcasing original art and contemporary crafts, merchandise, food, information from community groups, and five stages of continuous entertainment. "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at Rider

  The musical theatre program at Rider University presents the rollicking musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers April 24 through April 28, in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater. Robin Lewis is the director, and Nathan Hurwitz is musical director for the cast composed of students studying musical theatre at Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts.   Based on the popular movie, this production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was adapted by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay with music by Gene de Paul and lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Rider University Presents 'Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake)' April 4-7

Presented by a cast of Rider University Musical Theatre and Theatre Performance majors, Shelia Callaghan's play follows the life of Janice, who is struggling to cope with the untimely death of her father.

Rider University will present Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake), directed by Ivan Fuller, Thursday April 4, through Sunday, April 7, in The Spitz Studio Theater on Rider's campus in Lawrence Township. Presented by a cast of Rider University Musical Theatre and Theatre Performance majors, Shelia Callaghan's Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake) follows the life of Janice, who is struggling to cope with the untimely death of her father. 'Art All Night' to be Held June 15-16

Online registration is underway for the annual event in Trenton.

On June 15th and 16th, an expected 20,000 people will attend Trenton’s landmark 24-hour art and entertainment festival, Art All Night, at the historic Roebling Wire Works factory building. Last year’s event drew more than 18,000 visitors and 900 pieces of artwork from across the region. Organizers are preparing for an even larger turnout this year with early online registration for musical acts, interactive events (deadline May 16) and volunteers.
