Trial of Lawrence Twp. Music Teacher Begins in Pa.

Lawrence Middle School music teacher David Kelly stands accused of firing two shots from a rifle at two teenagers who walked across his property in Northampton Township, Bucks County, Pa., last August.

Testimony is expected to begin today (Wednesday, Jan. 25) in the trial of David Kelly, the Lawrence Township public school music teacher who was arrested last August for allegedly firing two shots from a rifle at two teenagers walking on his property in Northampton Township, Pa., according to a report published on PhillyBurbs.com.

Kelly and his attorney have claimed the weapon went off accidentally and that the teens exaggerated what happened, according to the PhillyBurbs report.

Kelly remains suspended – pending the outcome of his trial – from his job as a seventh- and eighth-grade music teacher and orchestra director at Lawrence Middle School.
