Separate Crashes Leave Cars Overturned, Drivers Hurt
The accidents, which occurred on Bakers Basin Road and Keefe Road in Lawrence Township, occurred 12 hours apart Saturday.
Lawrence Township police, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to two separate traffic accidents involving overturned vehicles that happened 12 hours apart on Saturday, Dec. 22.
The first accident, reported to police at 2:44 a.m., occurred on Bakers Basin Road near Basin Road when Christopher Wyche, 22, of Morton Court, Lawrence Township, lost control of his Nissan, according to Detective Sgt. Joseph Amodio, a township police spokesman.
The Nissan flipped onto its side. Wyche, whose injuries were not of a life-threatening nature, was charged with driving under the influence and related offenses, Amodio said.
The second accident, reported to police at 2:45 p.m., involved a Lincoln that flipped over onto its roof in the 500 block of Keefe Road.
The driver, Anthony Serge, 68, of Highfield Court, Lawrence Township, was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by crews from the Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville and Slackwood volunteer fire companies, Amodio said. He said Serge’s injuries were not believed to be serious.
The circumstances of that crash remain under investigation, he added.
